Consultations are by appointment only. Appointments can be made online, over the phone, in person. Routine appointments with the Doctor are usually of 10 minutes duration. Practice Nurse appointments are of variable duration dependent upon the reason for the appointment. Appointments can be made for face to face or telephone consultations.
It’s very helpful if you discuss the reason for your appointment with Reception as this will help to ensure you receive the right service with the right person at the right time. Same day appointments are available every day if your medical problem genuinely cannot wait until the next available routine appointment.
If you have been given a same day clinic appointment you will be seen for the one medical problem you felt was too urgent to wait until our next routine appointment and you will be seen by the first clinician who becomes available, this could be either a Practice Nurse or a GP.
Please keep or cancel your appointment. Appointments can be cancelled online, over the phone or in person. A permanent record is kept in your medical records of missed appointments. It’s understandable that on rare occassions appointments may be missed but the practice will take action if repeatedly missed as this impairs our ability to provide the service to our patients.
If a specimen has been requested from you please contact reception to collect the appropriate container, which should have your name and date of birth marked on it before return to the surgery.
If your illness prohibits you from visiting the surgery a visit by the doctor can be arranged. Please telephone before 11.00 with sufficient information to enable the doctor to decide if a home visit is necessary.
